I don't know about you but one of the best experiences I've had as an author is creating a book trailer. I've seen many of them around the blogsophere and internet and I have to say, wow. Here's the one I created with an amazing crew of my friends for my debut YA novel, Flame of Surrender.
cool trailer. i enjoy book trailers.
ReplyDeleteI do like book trailers, but I must say, I don't look to them to get me interested in a book. I usually watch the trailer after I have already read and enjoyed the book and want to get a visual interpretation of it. The book trailer gives me a chance to ruminate on the feelings and general mood inspired by the book. Good examples of this are the Daughter of Smoke and Bone trailer and also the one for The Night Circus.
ReplyDeleteI totally get where you're coming from. I've often had readers tell me the same thing. They read my book for whatever reason and then watch the trailer. Also, egads! I need to go look at the trailers you mentioned! Thanks for the suggestions!
DeleteVery nice! I like the music and the fact that there's not a lot of talking in it. Some good closeups of feet running , and a sense of drama. I can see why this was fun to put together.
ReplyDeleteHey Cathy! Thanks! I have to thank Sam and Ayla for those close ups and the feet running stuff. They're the film students who helped me make this and so it was all their expertise that went into that. :)
DeleteCool trailer! I like trailers only after I read the synopsis. If I don't like the synopsis I would view the trailer.
ReplyDeleteI love your trailer, but I already told you that :-) I made one of my own, but mostly just for fun and as part of a workshop since my book isn't available, and unfortunately I didn't have any film students to help me so it's not a filmed trailer.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE book trailers. They can totally makevme jazzed for a book and I appreciate the Authors that much more then those who dont do it.
ReplyDeleteI love trailers, but I wonder how many non writers actually watch them. I'd be interested to find out. Great job on yours. :)
ReplyDeleteThat was a ton of fun!
ReplyDeleteGood book trailers are a great way of pulling in the movie going public who need imagery to whet their appitite ahead of a purchase.
ReplyDeleteBad book trailers however make me die a little inside ...
